It is sometimes difficult to find French/onion crackers, especially in the USA, so I have used several kinds, such as sour cream and onion, onion and herbs etc. You can use baked chip kind crackers as well. As all crackers have different butter content, it can be helpful to add several tablespoons of cream cheese or extra butter to help the dough stay together in the rolling and baking process. This is one of our family favorites.
